Akshaya Tritiya 2018 is also known as Akhateej. This fast is done on Sudi Teej in the Shukla Paksha of Vaishakha month. The austerity and charity done on this day is very fruitful. Akshaya Tritiya 2018 Fast Procedure

On this day, donations of fan, rice, salt, ghee, sugar, vegetable, fruits, tamarind and garments are considered very important. On this day the doors of Shri Badrinarayan ji opens. In Vrindavan, only this day one can get the chance to view Bihari Ji. We offer wet gram pulses and Mishri (sugar candy) to Badrinarayan ji by either going to Thakurdware or by putting a painting of Badrinarayan ji on a throne. This day is considered to be very auspicious for all kinds of good deeds. One should eat Khichdi made up of moong dal and rice without salt in the morning.

Story of Akshaya Tritiya 2018

In ancient times, there was a poor virtuous and a vaishya who believed in the Gods. He was a bit distraught because he was poor. Fortunately, a pundit described him the procedure for the fast of Akshaya Tritiya. When this festival arrived, he took the bath in sacred Ganga and worshiped gods and goddesses.

This Vaishya became the King of Kushavati in the next life. With the influence of Akshaya Tritiya, he became a wealthy and prosperous king. Even though he was prospering, he never got distracted from the path of religion. He announced the good effects of this fast amount his citizens. According to his statement, his people also started the fasting of Akshay Tritiya by following all the rituals properly and soon they all became prosperous and happy.

It is said that the Parashuram (incarnation of Lord Vishnu) took birth on this day. He devoid the earth 21 times from warriors (kshtriya) and is an immortal himself.
